Very nice margaritas and Tamales was amazing.!!
Best hidden spot in fort Lauderdale beach. Great prices food and service. Kenny the bartender is awesome.
This is a gem find! Not much on the outside but the service and food was wonderful. Chips and salsa are addictive!
Enchiladas were great! Needs updates.
Good food, tasty margaritas. Can't get happy hour pricing unless you sit at the bar.
I really like this place, rustic ambiance, great service and food !
We went here on a Sunday when the busy Spring Break crowd had taken over every place with a beach view. It's an easy place to miss as it fronts a heavy traffic road but no one can see where to park. Parking in back is easy. It was nearly empty but the bartender and owner were very welcoming. The wood Mexican themed interior is warm and pleasant. We had drinks and a big nacho platter. It was very good and the way it was arranged, with individual helpings, made it easy to enjoy. We hung out in the charming ambience through several drinks. Our entire bill came to $11 for 4 drinks and a big nacho platter! We'll be returning many times over, for sure.
The staff here are wonderfully nice, fall on your sword be thankful we have this venue, they spike your margaritas and serve good unpretentious mexican food..have fun...meet some cool people..
The owners and staff remain the same for so many decades that this tells me that this is an amazing place!
We had the best margaritas and I think we ate a whole bag of chips n salsa lol
Family friendly place. We visited twice during the week we were in Ft Lauderdale because the prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the staff and owners treated us better than anywhere else that we went. The menu is smaller than some Mexican restaurants but that's also a good thing because the items on the menu are items that are done well. Try the nachos and the house margarita, you won't regret it.
Nice little Mexican restaurant tucked in off the intercoastal. Cheap good food and a full bar
Good location near beach. Food good. Staff was friendly.
Late night stop off after Tortuga. Large Margaritas for $11 Fantastic! We each had a different dinner special: mahi-mahi soft taco & shrimp quesadilla! Nice portions, friendly attentive service and food was nice and hot (temperature not spice) it was a wonderful experience from start to finish!
Awsome tamales! Oh wow soooo good. Love this place
Oh... my... goodness.... They have the absolute best red enchilada sauce ever. When you get the chips and salsa, make sure you ask for the green sauce with it. Girlfriend got perfect chili rellenos. I had perfect Enchilada rancheras.
Friendly staff, good food.
Always good food in a true cantina. Had an excellent sirloin burrito. This handmade food. They ask how you like your steak cooked before it is put in the burrito.
Nice server, but the food was terrible.
Delicious food and drinks, unpretentious vibe. I come here whenever I'm in Fort Lauderdale.
This is not authentic Mexican food. My tortillas were store bought & cold when they came out. Shrimp were over cooked & my fajitas were all onions & peppers barely any steak or shrimp. They didn't even have juice as a drink option only soda. I can't even tell what kind of rice was used. It was so gritty & not cooked all the way through. This was just my meal. I don't even have time to discuss my wife's meal on here.
Great food reasonably priced! Great service!
Nice little place of beach. Nice price good food. Genuine.
The absolute best Mexican Food and Margarita ever! The owner and cooks have been together since they own the doors! The service is awesome but the food is even better! It's my husband's and I first stop every time we come to town and the never disappoint.
The margarita was watery in taste. The "deep fried ice cream" was not deep fried. My food looked like it had been sitting out too long before my waitress brought it to me. Then it took the waitress half an hour to bring us our check after we asked for it. Also, she added on her tip to the bill stating that guest count over 6 people (we had 7) always automatically added the tip- thought it was hand written on the receipt. Not the best experience.
One of the oldest restaurants of Fort lauderdale! The best service and authentic mexican deliciousness to experience! Try the Machaca Burrito and the sirloin steak burrito.. best for a hang over or a start of a ln awesome night :) big glass margaritas and big mug beers. ENJOY! and the staff are awesome!!! Love it here.
Really lovely place. Very inexpensive compared to other restaurants near by. Great food and prices. Highly recommend.
BEST. FAJITAS. EVER!!! I honestly don't know what they put in them, maybe I don't want to know, haha. No one else comes close to compare. The addiction factor is real! The salsa is drinkable! The ritas are hefty. Everyone is nice! I stopped by a lot when I lived a bit closer but it's worth still worth a 30 minute drive. Their food has remained amazing for the 8+ years that I've been going. 15/10 worth a visit! You won't regret it!Note: Some review stated that they don't take credit cards. That is false. Of the dozens of times I've been, I have never paid cash.
I’d give it “ok” three stars if it weren’t for the price. We went with 4 adults and 2 kids. The food is “ok. Not great, not bad. We had drinks which were good. The service was ho hum. At one point we had to go up to the bar to get another round of drinks and they weren’t even busy. However the big shock was the price: $150 for 6 people! (2 kids) and we only had a few drinks.
I've been going here since 2005, awesome staff and the margaritas are STRONG. Shrimp and raw veggie quesadilla for the win.. Tell them jerry sent you
Best chips and salsa ever
Really good food at really good prices. Building is a little run down, but who cares? You're there for the food and drinks!
Great Mexican food - I ALWAYS look forward to the fajitas when we make the decision to return and they never disappoint :-) The burritos and margaritas also get great reviews from my travel buddies. It's in a good location with parking close to the beach, not too much frontage so you can go past by mistake but the prices are very competitive and the portions are big. Jessica usually ends up our server, she's great, she remembered us from our previous vacation over a year ago. Evenings here are a highlight of our trips and we keep coming back!
Service was good but the food was gross and pricey.
Great food and great atmosphere
Walked 2 1/2 miles from our hotel, specifically to eat here, and showed up at 9:30; even though their sign out front says 11pm as their closing time, when we walked in, we were turned away, as the staff decided they were going to close an hour and a half early because "business is slow tonight".Excellent customer service. (Sarcasm, for the uninitiated.)
The food was not at all good. The best part was the bathroom. See the bathroom is a very special place and this one especially. So I go to do my business and so I go to do my business and and a little did I know the toilet doubles as a rocking chair. Lol. The bathroom also is an absolute oven in there. The bathroom has a slip n slide because it is always wet.
Disappointed. Although customer service was great_ food was inedible, reheated & very stale.Shame, waste of time & funds. Free Chips & salsa was best part of "meal".
Food was awful and expensive. The staff was nice but unfortunately that didn't make up for the disgusting food.
Very very expensive for what we got and the chicken nachos didn't even have the normal white cheese on it, nasty shredded cheddar on them. Our bill was $70 for fried ice cream, chicken nachos, jalapeno poppers, burrito w/ rice and beans, 2 margaritas and 3 beers. Save your money go else where.
Great food, very authentic, reasonable prices and always great service. I have eaten here several times the past few years and it remains consistently good.
We love Mexican Cantina. We have eating there for over 25 years. We love these guy...
Food was good but the kitchen took an hour to serve our dinners even though there were only two other tables occupied
The food was good but cold. A lot of money for just a burrito and no chips. I could of gone to a fast food Mexican restaurant and got more for my money.
Pretty good! Drinks are awesome and decently priced. The mani mani fish could have been better seasoned. Service was amazing.
We come here almost once a week and it's always good. I've had several items on the menu and they have all been delicious and filling. Enjoy!
This is a hidden gem that offers 5star authentic mexican dishes.Great ambiance great staff great ownership! We always make sure we put it on our to do list when in Fort Lauderdale.
